I’ll pull you away

While they’re still saying shavua tov.

Get in my car.

I’ll drive too fast.

You’ll hang your head out the window.

Let your hair down.

No one is peering at us

Through the mechitza

Over siddurim.

Take your skirt off.

We can climb mountains.

Feel the moonlight on your face.

Scream things you were never meant to think.

We could ride dragons.

Dive to the bottom of the lake.

See things like us

Swimming in the dark.

Grow gills.

Become mermaids.

Cut off all our hair.

Get tattoos.

Sing until our voices get hoarse

And we twirl our way back down

Taking our time

stopping at every sign.
