I sit 

With my legs folded under me 

Next to you 

With your legs over the arm of the chair 

In the dark 

With the glow of the TV in our eyes 

Looking at each other 

Like we have so many times before 

Like we will so many times after 

In the silent joy of the after work midnight 

Smiling, happy to just be with you forever again 

The Base of Love  

With you 

With me 

Smiling forever like so many  

Silent midnight times 

Happy again 

We glow with our joy 

My legs on the chair 

My eyes on you 

We sit looking at each other 

Before the TV 

After dark 

Folded under your arm 

Like so many times after work
