The Kingdom Beneath the Waves

There is a kingdom,

hidden beneath the waves,

lost to humanity.

Whales sing its praises,

dolphins speak of it in hushed whispers.

The sharks rule there,

swimming around smaller, scattering, fish.

Lost artifacts

of once human residents

rest in the rotting wood.

It is lost

on its current,

cold, inhabitants—

sharks gliding through the wooden halls

and into various rooms,

Scattering fish as they go about their way.

The crabs watch,

some in and some out,

from the bottom of the sea.

There is a kingdom,

hidden beneath the waves,

lost to humanity.

Though humans once called it home.
